I have no idea, seems harmless…I guess.

The new Hooters restaurant may have gotten an unwelcome reception from some of the community’s religious leaders, but tonight it will get a little help from above.

As part of a private opening party, Monsignor Isidore Rozycki, the head Catholic priest for the Greater Waco area, plans to bless the chain’s newest location at New Road and Interstate 35. The public won’t be able to attend the event. But they can bask in the divine dedication starting Tuesday morning, when the restaurant officially opens.

“Blessings are part of the Catholic tradition,” said Rozycki, who is pastor of St. Martin’s Church in Tours. “You bless the building so it will be a safe haven, so that the families that enter will be blessed, so the employees will be blessed É as they support their families.”

Rozycki also pointed out that Hooters offers tuition assistance and has helped college students earn money to put themselves through school.
The ends justify the means? How nice.

I also disliked the part in the article where it mentions that this Priest will substitute the bride’s ring with a cheap gaudy plastic version. It is NOT NICE to do that at a wedding!😦

We must keep praying for all souls finding their way to Jesus. That includes some of our confused priests.

I once heard Dr. Laura talking about how she went to a Hooters restaurant for lunch and she had prepared herself to be completly ticked off. Instead, she found the menu to be very good, the service to be helpful, and instead of finding a bunch of tramps serving the food, she siad -yeah the girls had on tight lower cut shirts and short shorts, but all of them had on dancer tights and her well groomed. She told the listening audience, there were no bare midrifts or bra straps showing and that was better than many of the radio show adiences’ daughters by far.

Do I like Hooters? No. Will I ever go there to eat or buy or wear a Tshirt? No. I don’t really like that a priest blest the place, but at least it wasn’t a “Gentlemens Club”.

Not to mention the sinners and tax-collectors and others who may patronize Hooters…

Jesus came to save the sinners. Jesus went into the places where the sinners were and got criticised too as I recall? What better place to bless then a who who Hooters?I just wish I could eat some hot wings there while getting blessed.

there is nothing at all wrong or immoral about hooters. A priest blessed one, so what? good for him. It’s not like they promote anything bad, there’s no openly perverse message about what we should be doing instead of going to church, it’s a decent restaurant that actually has managed to do well for itself in both quality and customer service.

Yes…I go when i can, but the food is excellent and the people friendly. If there’s a problem with a priest blessing a place like that, then there’s a problem with priests blessing a lot of things.

I’m glad 👍

Maybe they deserve a double blessing…I’m sorry I just couldn’t resist 👍
