Is anyone hearing more and more that hospitals are misreporting what people died of for money? Because the government is paying more to hospitals for a COVID death?

I wouldn’t be surprised if anyone untested who died of some respiratory illness just gets lumped into the COVID statistics because nobody is going to waste a limited amount of tests on a corpse.

From a quick search, about 8000 every day.

I don’t. It’s just things I’m hearing second or third hand.

I’m sure the regulators of hospitals will go through the coding of deaths and look for fraud. They already do this and because Covid seems to reimburse at a higher rate, they will single this out for further scrutiny. Any hospital can get away with a false code on occasion but I really doubt any could sustain it…especially if it’s known they will be looking into it.

If some cheating comes to life, it will be interesting to see which type of hospitals did so…charity vs non profit vs for profits or just a random mix!

Seems always somebody has to use a tragic pandemic to their advantage. Shame on them, if it really is happening.

If it is going to be economically advantageous to lie, people will.

I bet the covid numbers would go down if the advantage were removed.
They only get money if they’ve demonstrably treated the patient for COVID. Just having it on the death certificate is not sufficient.

This has been making the rounds as one of the early gaslighting attempts we’ll be experiencing.

I’m hearing anecdotal stories of nursing homes under-reporting Covid19 deaths to make their stats look better, but again, I have no proof.

No, but treatment in even the smallest way is sufficient.

“Gaslighting?”

Seems a little early to be making such a conclusion.

Not sure where you’re getting that. The original topic is specifically about an example of a false narrative that has been making the rounds.

Well, it is early to draw that conclusion.
It’s early to point out when something false is being said? I didn’t know there was some time limit before we pointed out untruths.

Hey all comments are welcome. I’ve heard this and wanted to see if others were hearing the same thing, maybe with any sources to back it up. Thanks JulianN.

Got Rash Judgment?

😠 🚬

P.S. No, I haven’t heard such rumors.
