Is anyone hearing more and more that hospitals are misreporting what people died of for money?
First hand knowledge…just came up talking about this with my wife.
My wife’s uncle died 2 weeks ago.
Because of the circumstances, there was an autopsy.
The heart attack he had suddenly turned into covid 19. We were all surprised since he had no symptoms and had never got a test.
The family threatened to get a lawyer and the newspaper involved, I don’t know how it turned out after that.

So they told you they didn’t do a Covid-19 test post mortem as part of the autopsy, but listed it as cause of death?

All we know is that he had a heart attack and died. He had never had symptoms not had ever been tested for covid.
But the autopsy report listed covid as the cause of death.

But the autopsy report listed covid as the cause of death.
Since April 23, it’s become fairly standard to test for Covid in cases of death that are often attributable to it —particularly heart attacks and strokes. Asymptomatic Covid has caused severe strokes, for example, in young otherwise healthy people.

But you don’t know that unless you’ve seen the autopsy report
You mean the report that made no mention of a test but somehow listed it as cause of death?

I am sure a lot of grand claims can be made, but unless they tested a dead body and failed to document it, he didn’t die of covid.

Did he go to a cardiac cath lab at the hospital for treatment of his heart attack? At my hospital ALL heart attack patients are screened and tested for covid, whether or not they have symptoms. The reason being is that covid is such a easily transferable disease, we have very limited cardiac cath lab staff. The cardiac cath lab is a very specialized environment. if they start becoming infected. It will seriously compromise the hospitals ability to treat heart attack patients.

My understanding is that he grabbed his chest and fell. He was dead before he hit the floor.

I do not know if the ER did anything more than call the time of death.

OK.

I’ll just say that, right now, someone who’s died of a heart attack would have likely had a post mortem Covid test. It’s definitely unusual that the family would have received a full autopsy report—they’re pretty graphic.
