For all you know, he might be on some kind of medicine that cannot be taken with alcohol. Or he might have a condition (like gout) that is worst when alcohol is consumed. I know my fiance gets a raging headache from just a sip of red wine.
This thread is an interesting example of how some would ignore a horribly problematic matter in the name of “charity.” That is so terribly wrong.

Yes there might be practical concerns in some cases such as medicines, alcoholism, etc. but they all (or at least the vast majority) have practical solutiuons too.

The genesis of this matter apepars to stem from the priest. Either he is ignorant about the Church’s instructions on the matter, he dosen’t want to make the effort to invoke a practical solution or he’s playing a childish game of defiance. In any of the three cases it needs to be addessed…

You work with him daily? Can I assume that you work FOR him in the rectory, or at the very least you volunteer at the parish every single day and work closely with him?

How much respect you must have for him to come to a message board and ask if what he is doing is “right” instead of approaching him and simply asking him.
As was made clear in previous posts, Love4Mary DID approach the priest and discussed it. It is only after that that he came here to ask about alternatives.

And even if that were not true, the original question was whether preists need to receive under both species, a reasonable question. Your implication about lack of respect appears uncharitable.

If that’s the case then he must use mustum with the bishop’s permission.

Otherwise, he could not say Mass.
