House Blessing?

I don’t know if this is the correct place for this question but I recently bought my own home. I was wondering what a house blessing is and whether or not I should get one for my new house. I’ll be moving in next week, after doing some repairs. Thanks.

I would certainly recommend it - shortly after I moved into my house, I attended the daily Mass, and invited the small, elderly “daily Mass crowd” over for a house blessing and house warming, with coffee, tea, and hors d’oeuvres. The priest went from room to room, said the blessing, and sprinkled holy water. All in all, it was a nice little gathering.
