How are Christian films so awful?

Hey, Patrick! That Jeffrey Hunter story was a HOOT! TCM usually runs “K of K’s “ around Easter and I’m gonna be there, thinking about the too hairy Jesus!

TCM runs the 1959 Ben-Hur a lot. If I’m not mistaken, they did run the 1925 film at least once (and, of course, I missed it.)

Oh, and I did make one giant mistake: it was Robert Taylor, not Victor Mature, who starred in “Quo Vadis”. I must have been thinking about “Samson and Delilah”, another “gem” from DeMille. Two pluses for the latter movie, though: Hedy Lamarr and George Sanders. Sanders is on my list of most underrated actors ever. He is just great in those nasty, slimy, bad guy roles!

About JCS: I must have been under a rock in 2000. Who was in that version? I would like to compare and contrast! And you are dead-on about Ted and “Gethsemane”. Also, back in ’73, I thought that montage was so “groovy”, especially when DaVinci’s “Last Supper” transmogrified into a “still” of the scene with the actors in the movie. Yeah, great stuff!
