In John 3:5, Jesus answered Nicodemus, “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of the water and the Spirit.” Since non-Catholic Christians are christened or receive baptism as adults after having received Jesus as their personal savior, the scripture says they will be able to enter into the kingdom of God.
Question: Are non-Catholic Christians part of Christ’s Mystical Body through baptism even though they do not belong to the Catholic Church? or is the Mystical Body only the Cathollc Church? Are they part of the kingdom of God? What is the kingdom of God?
In “The Fourth Cup,” Scott Hahn said that it was not enough for the Jews to have killed the passover lambs and to have sprinkled the lambs’ blood over their doors, they also had to eat the passover lambs if they did not want their first-born sons to be dead by morning. Scott said that, likewise, for us we must not only be baptized and believe in Christ’s sacrificial death for our sins, but we must also eat the Passover Lamb (Christ’s flesh and blood) in order to keep the passover celebration. In John 6:53-54, Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”
Question: Do non-Catholics have Christ’s life in them without eating His flesh and drinking His blood? If the answer is “no,” must they join the Catholic Church and receive the Eucharist in order to have Chirst’s life in them and be raised up on the last day? If that is the case, how can there be non-Catholic people who are holy – such as Billy Graham, D. L. Moody, Fanny Crosby, etc?
Non-Catholic Christians quote John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” They also quote Romans 10:9-10: “That if you confess with your mouth ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”
Question: Since they believe in Jesus and confess Him with their mouths, are they saved without joining the Catholic Church and do they have Christ’s Divine Life without partaking of the flesh and blood of Jesus in the Eucharist?
