So sorry you feel that way. If you live in the States, the fact is that most of us are surrounded by folks who are not Catholic. It’s not even fair to expect they will understand much about us.

welcome to the club! i feel misunderstood by the catholics, jews, islams, wiccans, atheists, moonies (but they’re EVIL!! T.T and i hope i spelled it wrong too…bunch of jerks…emm…sry), preps, higher class people, teachers, parents…etc.

im simply saying deary that your really not alone. we all feel misunderstood by many different kinds of people. i understand how you feel.

i’ve been saying this over and over. no, you cant always show people how you see the right way to live life. what matters the most is that you know that you are living the right life for yourself. we all live different lives for a reason. we all see the world different ways. and we all follow different paths. these reasons is not something any church can preach an answer to, and many try–but fail saying “because they are wrong”. its not a question to be answer, but its faith that we all will go where we what to go–whatever that place may be.

running out of time…
yes time is running out for mankind. its not something we can do so much about. many high spirits, angels are a work to stop many bad things to come. have faith in them and you should be fine.👍

i may not worship anyone but i do have faith that they will do in all their power to protect mankind and this world.

i guess all of us feel a little misunderstood as we are on our journey through life and we are all fighting our own battles.

sometimes i feel more misunderstood than other times!

fully agree, but over time–sometimes it hard and it hurts too much…but sometimes you just have to stay focus on your journey of your life and move on. dont get distracted.

i agree. don’t get distracted. very important to remember that.

PS - In what sense are you running out of time?
yeah, i can see where that could be misunderstood… Sorry… i was @ a library & it w as closing…

I may be running out of time in other ways also… for all i know… had this weird feeling around my heart the other day… :hypno: and the lower # on my blood press reading went up slightly… (from 75 to 82)… The upper # was 110 or so… so maybe i am Ok… ??? but kinda weird…

Anyway… it just seems that people think i am one kind of person when i am really another… which is understandable when people don’t know you well… and i don’t usually let people get to know me very well… I am not good at initiating relationships… edgy in unfamiliar social situations It is no wonder people don’t understand me, really… :banghead: :hmmm: I think they just think i am odd because… i don’t join in, don’t socialize much… I keep to myself… I have post traumatic stress “disorder” and that usually does tend to make a person want to isolate more than usual… (particularly when the ptsd was caused by human evil)… Once i get to know someone i can be myself with that person… but until then… i feel i can’t… and its weird becaues it seems like as much as i would like to change, i just can’t…

but the word “can’t” should not be in one’s vocabulary… when it comes to things one can actually change…

anyway… just wondering if anyone can relate to any (all?) of this?

anyway…

Do you mean all those people you mention are evil… or just the last group?

i hear you… & i have had the same thoughts… I don’t try to beat people over the head with the Church… i think that when people treat me “weird” without even knowing me… its cause they just sense there is something “different” about me… I tend to think it is mostly my Catholicism - though i have always been shy with people i don’t know…

I live in a VERY unCatholic area… although there Is a high percentage of those who call themselves Christian… so that’s a start…
i don’t know about anyone else… but i feel that being (truly) Catholic is as different from being Protestant as night & day…

Therefore, i feel they think i am “weird”… but then again, i don’t always even have a single clue what people think… so some of what i go through is just paranoia… anoother symptom of ptsd…

anyway… I will be OK… Talkng to Mary about “things” helps… (and all those others “up there” also… 🙂 )

i am distracted by Jesus…

I mean… when i am out in the world, separated from his True Presence…😦 i feel very… well…many things. I feel like i am supposed to be focused on worlldly things but that my “thing” with Jesus “distracts” me… and then when i am in His Real Presence in the Church… well… i am somewhat distracted by my life in the world… except that Jesus overcomes all that worldly stuff…🙂

anyway… as i said to some other poster… i feel that being a devout, practicing Catholic is extremely different from being a devout, say “non-denom” Christian… or any other kind of Christian…

Being different doesn’t bother me… but it seems to bother non-Catholics…

when do you feel most misunderstood? At work? with relatives?

Just curious…

right… and as you know… some “leaders” are far more trustworthy than others…

well, i also suffer from a post traumatic stress due to a series of events that happened in my life, and ever since then, i feel my world or my sense of the world is tilted!! that probably won’t make sense. it is kind of a scary feeling and everyone expects me to be happy and smiling and no matter how hard i try, i just feel icky inside. i have no energy and many times no joy. i am thankful to get up in the morning and thankful at night that i made it through another day, but everyday is a struggle. i feel like i am pushing a heavy cart up a hill and trying my hardest to keep it from rolling backwards or from the wheel going off the side of a cliff, like i am pusing a heavy wide cart on a very narrow pathway and trying to balance this cart.

so people might see me and say, oh, she seems so angry or unhappy or what is wrong with her. well, i am fighting a battle i guess. against what i don’t know. i just feel like i lost my place in this world several years back and i don’t have a place anymore. so that is how i feel misunderstood.

i really feel for you… i could even say the same thing except that… well, i have good days… You probably do also…? the good days are when i am alone with Jesus … or out in nature alone with the Father… or @ Mass… 🙂

I have not always led a good life. Sometimes, people who knew me before cannot understand me now. I am the same, just witha better understanding of my faith and more focus on it. When I was wild, I was looking for something to fill a hole. Now, I know that it was God. I cannot seem to get through to these people.

well, let’s just say that there are parts of my day when i am not as stressed as other parts. like when i am in the adoration chapel, i feel safe and calm.

sometimes i just get overwhelmed with what is going on in the world and in our nation and in my personal life.

let’s just say that i know the quality of my life could be much happier and much better.

i hear you!!

i think my family just wants me to go back to being the same ofd person i was before… so they will know how to deal with me… But then, another problem is that they are not as religious as i am… not as into Jesus… or the Church (most of them)… and that makes them feel uncomfortable… for whatever reasons… It hurts that they don’t seem to value me… but then, you know… They never did…

anyway… don’t want to sound like i am feeling sorry for myself… Truth be told, i am over doing much ofthat. the only reason i mention (at this time in my life) stuff that sounds self-pitying is as explanation… for who i am and how i tendto think and feel, etc… It may come across like self-pity, but i am rather beyond that…

i could have written this myself… almost brought tears to my eyes because, for one thing, i no longer live near a Chapel… and i SO miss the time i used to spend there…

that is the only time i feel whole and at peace… and loved… and like there is hope for me…

When out in the world, where there is no Jesus… to speak of… it can be sheer Hell… especially after having known the Real Presence and how wonderful that is… the comparison is just outrageous…

(In other words: Jesus has spoiled me rotten! 😃 )

i am now even more out of synch iwth the world than ever… But o well… i have found Him… (i know where to find Him 🙂 )…

I am thakful someone like you who suffers so much has also found Him… 🙂 I was kind of “old” before a priest finally told me about the blessed Sacrament… the greatest gift i’ve ever been given… Now that i think about it, i wonder why more priests don’t mention the real Presence… (as part of penance , etc…) 😦

Godbless. 🙂

well, i just became a Catholic the middle of July, so the Real Presence is very new to me, but it does bring me peace.

God willing, i will be moving to a new community and i hope they will have a perpetual adoration. ar at least a daily adoration is available. i will need it!
