How are You Misunderstood?

I am misunderstood about the reasons why I got married when I did. I met my husband when I was 19 and he was so protective and we wanted to get married soon ( 6 months after) because he was going to be drafted. So they couldn’t understand how we could know what we were doing. Glory be we were so young ha. Well many thought I was pregnant but I never was and so they all had their own ideas. They actually had to invent stuff in their brain. He was such a dreamy guy still is but we decided to get hitched so we would be legal but no one understood why I didn’t wait till he got back, but dah !!! he maybe wouldn’t come back and then I would never have know how it was to have his name. But no one understood that it meant so much. I figured I was making history, little pat on the back ahahh!🙂 It was awful to know he was going to be gone for awhile but those few months were my hope. And maybe a request to God that we are joined as two so he is not alone over there.🙂 I also got pregnant 3 months before he went over, dah why are you doing that, again nonunderstanding, well then I met another lady who was also with a bun in the oven and she was not so lucky, my husband did a Christmas weekend shift for him, this is just before they all left to go to Vietnam, and her husband was one of the ones killed right away when they got there. She went back to California and had her boy and gave him his name. They still don’t understand and they never will, but we do, you do, and Our Blessed Virgin Mary does. Oh I had a girl and named her middle name my hubbies AND NOT CHANGING IT. They didn’t understand that ither said I was women’s lib oh well, things could have been different but I would not change my choices as I believe I was doing it all out of love. 🙂

yeah, i can see where that could be misunderstood… Sorry… i was @ a library & it w as closing…

I may be running out of time in other ways also… for all i know… had this weird feeling around my heart the other day… :hypno: and the lower # on my blood press reading went up slightly… (from 75 to 82)… The upper # was 110 or so… so maybe i am Ok… ??? but kinda weird…

Anyway… it just seems that people think i am one kind of person when i am really another… which is understandable when people don’t know you well… and i don’t usually let people get to know me very well… I am not good at initiating relationships… edgy in unfamiliar social situations It is no wonder people don’t understand me, really… :banghead: :hmmm: I think they just think i am odd because… i don’t join in, don’t socialize much… I keep to myself… I have post traumatic stress “disorder” and that usually does tend to make a person want to isolate more than usual… (particularly when the ptsd was caused by human evil)… Once i get to know someone i can be myself with that person… but until then… i feel i can’t… and its weird becaues it seems like as much as i would like to change, i just can’t…

but the word “can’t” should not be in one’s vocabulary… when it comes to things one can actually change…

anyway… just wondering if anyone can relate to any (all?) of this?

anyway…
My wife has the same. It’s a life time thing you’re dealing with. I knew what caused it but not the severity of it. I married her knowing she had issues. but I didn’t realize the severity like I said. It took about 18 years just to scratch the surface of it. But she’s functioning quite well these days in comparison.

i have it as well. i understand the whole want to change, but cant. that trait is very clear to me when times are the hardest, which can be a very bad thing. it almost cost me my life. and talk about isolation! all my life i was like that. yeah i had some friends, but not much. it really hard to live like that. im much better than i have been. my only problem is working at a place with lots of people. i really did try to ignore it and get over it and i failed. idk i guess maybe over time i will be able to. so if you want advice with this problem i would be more happy to help! you can send messages if you with it to be private.

oh btw, do not take any A.D.D meds. it will make your problems worse.

your family sounds about as cantankerous as mine… :hypno:

nothing i do is ever the right thing…

so here is one person who does not misunderstand… well, not to speak of anyway…

By the way, what is it like to be married? Never been there… seems like one heck of a dififuclt vocation… esp for me becaue i have post traumatic stress and don’t trust anyone… & always choose the wrong man… (weird how that works… )…

maybe you could give me some advice… Surely you must know someone who married the wrong one (s)???

God bless…

thank you for the kind offer to speak to you (private message)… i may take you up on that…

yeah, i worked on trying to change this and change that about myself… all to (almost) no avail… Actually, what helps me the most (wondering if you have tried this?) is keeping a jouranl of thoughts, feelings, etc… A lot ofthe time, i just write letters to Jesus, ones i never show anyone… I keep them locked up… (not that i have anything to hide… really, but… well, my ptsd came partly from “hateful” people getting into my life too much… so now i have this thing about not wanting to share certain things about myself. . with just anyone… )

anyway… maybe i should PM the rest ofthis…

God bless… 🙂

ohh the last one. stay away from them.
the Moonies??

i would think they would be somewhat better than Mormons… but i have to admit i don’t know much about them… i knew someone in that group once yrs ago… seemed like a bunch of hippies to me, but nothing very harmful…
