How best to handle liturgical abuse?

There is nothing in what you quoted to suggest that the statement concerns a simple liturgical error.

“Abuse” would be a systematic and regular failure to “do the red, say the black”. The fact that an elderly priest, on a minor feast day during the week, forgot the Gloria on one occasion is an unintentional error.

The fact that a priest systematically omits the Gloria on feasts is an abuse.

Sorry, but your argument is a non sequitur. It does not follow that because the statement used the word “abuse” it equally applies to an occasional error.
There is nothing in Church documents that address anything as “liturgical error” That term does not exist. That is why you find nothing to suggest a simple liturgical error.
Redemptionis Sacramentum uses the term abuse nowhere does it use simple liturgical error. What it does say if you had bothered to read it is
[171.] Among the various abuses there are some which are objectively graviora delicta or otherwise constitute grave matters, as well as others which are nonetheless to be carefully avoided and corrected. Bearing in mind everything that is treated especially in Chapter I of this Instruction, attention should be paid to what follows…
  1. Other Abuses
[174.] Furthermore, those actions that are brought about which are contrary to the other matters treated elsewhere in this Instruction or in the norms established by law are not to be considered of little account, but are to be numbered among the other abuses to be carefully avoided and corrected.

Thanks for the uncharitable reply.

This isn’t worth arguing, just as an error isn’t worth prosecuting.
Nice ad hominem:rolleyes: It isn’t just an error nor is your definition of what is abuse found in any Church Document.
as well as others which are nonetheless to be carefully avoided and corrected
