How can a 3 PM Saturday Mass fulfill the Sunday obligation?

The question was just posed – again – as to whether a 3 PM Saturday Mass would fulfill the Sunday obligation. Michelle Arnold’s answer was “Yes.” I have yet to meet a priest who would agree with that. Pope John Paul II would not have agreed with that!
