How can a clairvoyant know so much about my sister-in-law's family?

My non-Catholic sister-in-law has started consulting a clairvoyant and she seems to know every possible thing about her family even though she hasn’t met this woman before. How do you explain this, and what should I say to her?

Many of those who pass themselves off as “clairvoyants” are experienced grifters. Initially the information given is somewhat generalized, but based upon factors common to the mark’s demographic profile. The mark will either explicitly confirm information or indicate confirmation through physical “tells” in body language. Once confirmations start being given, the grifter can personalize the information to the mark. Of course, once the grifter has the mark’s confidence, then the mark starts paying for information. Once a business relationship is established, the grifter can research his mark through driver’s license and credit card information for all sorts of personal information about the mark and his family.

There is usually nothing “supernatural” or “preternatural” about any of this. But, of course, if you open yourself up to clairvoyants, there is no telling how much material and/or spiritual harm they can inflict.
