This question has several parts:
- If Jesus Christ is a union of human and divine natures, then is/was his human nature co-eternal with God, or only his divine nature?
- In John 1:1, it says, “In the beginning was God, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” The relevant Greek term here is “Logos”. The Logos of God, then, is taken to be co-eternal with the father. This Logos, it would seem, corresponds to the divine nature of Jesus Christ.
- If so, then can it be said that the joint human-divine nature of Jesus Christ is the second person of the Holy Trinity? Or is only the divine nature of Jesus Christ (the Logos?) the second person? How could Jesus Christ’s human nature be part of the Trinity if it is/was not co-eternal with God?
