I am new and excited to begin my Catholic journey. I begin the RCIA classes in the fall, but I want to start my journey of faith now. I wanted any prayers or tips on what I can do thoughout the day. I am trying to learn the rosary and do it everyday, yet it is kind of confusing.

Wow, its always refreshing to see someone so willing to pratice the catholic faith but I do have to give you a small warning (just a teeny one 👍) praying the rosary every day while it is good its not a thing to do unless you really mean every prayer. I used to pray the rosary three times a day one in the morning, one in the afternoon and one before I go to bed. I realized soon that I was only praying out of routine that even though I was praying the meaning wasnt there. and as for tips theres only one big one TRY to be a good person, practice your faith with the people around you. I hope this phrase from Brother Francis will help you “preach the gospel and when nesscary use words”

peace and blessings always

it really is good to see someone so excited! my advice is to try to be consious of the presence of Christ throughout the day and act accordingly. I say christ instead of God because it is generally easier to imagine the person of Jesus than the unseen glory of God. It helps to wear a scapular or maybe keep a rosary or cross in your pocket- every time you see or touch it it will reming you to stay focused on Christ. do pray your rosary, but make sure that you are attentive to the prayers and the mysteries. the rosary is the greatest prayer other than the Mass, and if you continue praying it attentively and reverantly, you will look back in five years and wonder how you’d ever lived without it before! I would not suggest getting into too many discussions with other people in regards to defending the Catholic Faith- not yet. when you are approached by people about your conversion, the best answer is always, “This is where I found God”. Talk to good catholics that are prayerful and serve, learn as much as you can, and pray throughout the day. read the lives of the saints, or better yet- books written by the saints. take it slowly and enjoy your rica process. being a cradle catholic, i never have been outside of the Church and I always am amazed at the faith of converts. enjoy your rcia process, it will only happen once!

I’d suggest you to get this book “The Secret of the Rosary” by Saint Louis de Montfort. He’ll help you more on the meaning of the Rosary prayer especially the Hail Mary and its meditations.

Hi mkipp 👋 And… WELCOME HOME! 🙂 I will pray for you, as you make your journey. The Rosary is a very good thing for you to begin now… and will be a great source of grace for you. I’m very excited that you’ve chosen this beautiful devotion. I can just see Our Blessed Mother, extending her graceful hand to you… with this beautiful prayer!

Here are a couple of links which may be of help to you… in learning how to pray the Holy Rosary. First… here is the Eternal Word Television Network link. They AIR the Holy Rosary several times a day… and you can pray along with them… just check your local listings.

The other thing you can do… is to purchase a DVD (or CD) copy of the Holy Rosary, and pray along that way. That is how I re-learned to pray the Rosary (after many years of not praying it… 😊). The below link is my favorite…

Hope this helps! God bless! 🙂
