How can I become a Catholic?

I over the course of several years, I have found the truth of Catholisim and believe in the Holy Catholic Church. I am ready to make the next step to starting to attend my local Catholic Church this week. My question is that I am divorced and remarried. I wish to become part of the Catholic Church. I know that I can not partake in the Eucharist at this time, but does that keep me from becoming a catholic? I might add to, that my wife and I can no longer have sex do to physical problems on both our parts, and have been this way for several years.
My wife is catholic.
