How can I explain the Saints to my friend?

Hello my friend is a Non-denominational “Bible Christian” and everytime I mention anything about the Saints he responds with "What do you mean saints? Aren’t we all saints? It says in the bible we are all saints. He understands and agrees with the martyrs but he doesn’t with the saints. I truly feel he would listen if I could give him a good explanation. I’m constantly trying to understand the true faith on a deeper level every day. I feel I have a good understanding of the faith but I need a little help with this one. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.
