How can I find a Catholic Psychologist in Toronto Canada?

I know, that’s like like saying, how can I find an Orthodox Easter Bunny.

But serious. I’m in Toronto, Canada. There’s a USA website for Catholic Psychologists, and referrals. There are 5 million people within an hour’s drive from where I am. surely there is ONE faithful/orthodox Catholic Psychologist.

Or maybe NOT.

Good advice. 👍 Most Dioceses have a “Catholic Family Services” unit, and they’d be in the know.

Sorry I can’t offer you a specific name. I would just like to warn you that Catholic Family Services is essentially secular, and I wouldn’t put much weight on the “Catholic” part, since they are provincially funded I believe. A friend of mine worked for them in T.O. and she was the only practicing Catholic there.

Go to Holy Family on King street, ask Father Marting Hilbert to reffer you to a Catholic psychologist. He will reffer you to a Catholic priest who is a psychologist who’s clients are predominantly Catholic priests. I talked with this psychologist, he said that most psychologists now are very Un Catholic and in fact are trained that celibacy is a mental illness and homosexuallity is not.

This guy was on EWTN and I really like to watch when he is a guest on Women of Grace.
He is very Catholic and I believe everyone at the site below is, however he is also not Canadian.

I have to , I wish they had more Canadian provinces, they only have Alberta. I will email them and beg them to expand their coverage to all of Canada, I hope you do to.

Please Please Please, if you ever find a good Catholic psychologist anywhere in Ontario, please post all details to this forum so I can follow up.

Ideally I would like a GP psycho therapist or Psychiatrist that is Orthodox Catholic, so that I can get the province to cover it and get one stop shopping if I need meds.

I’m from the USA and we have the same problem here.
I had first gone to a therapist recommended from my parish but he was very secular and not helpful at all.

I finally found a great therapist who is truly Catholic from a website and it also has a list of therapists in Canada.

Catholic Psychotherapy Association of Canada (CPAC, www.catholichealingcanada.com) has recently been established and we are in the process of trying to expand our membership. We don’t have any members from the Toronto area at this time, but if you know any Catholic Therapists anywhere in Canada, please let them know about our association so that we can make Catholic therapy more accessible.
