Hi everyone. How do I go about finding an Eastern Rite Catholic Church in my area?

ByzCath.org has a parish listing, which while not complete, is a better start than just the Ruthenian Eparchial websites… tho Irish Melkite has gotten the vast majority of the Ruthenian parishes in that listing!

Don’t forget, almost all the Eastern Catholic Churches have their own bishops in the USA.

Consequently, they will not be listed on the Latin diocesan’s web sites.

1. Mar Abraham Chaldean Catholic Church (with has a mission elsewhere in the Valley).
2. St. Joseph’s Maronite Catholic Church
3. Syrian Catholic Mission
4. Syro-Malabar Catholic Mission

I forgot to mention that there’s a Ukrainian Catholic mission in Flagstaff that has Divine Liturgy one Saturday night a month that’s served out of Phoenix.

You might be interested to note that our local Latin diocesan website lists my Ruthenian parish, as well as the two local Ukrainian parishes. Although this isn’t a universal practice, the original poster could very well find the information she’s looking for in such a place.

You inspired me to check my own local Latin diocesan web site. It lists a Byzantine-Ruthenian parish (mine), three Ukrainian parishes and two Maronite parishes. It doesn’t list the Ethiopian parish that uses our parish, and it lists the Ukrainians as parishes in local Latin Deaneries, but still – pretty informative. Which just goes to support Elizabeth’s point: you might find the same is true in your neck of the woods, too.
