I have tried to read up on this subject, and can’t find a clear answer!
Matthew 10:37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
I can’t imagine ever being able to love God more than my mother, does this mean that I will go to hell?
Also, I have a second question. My mother has turned her back on the church, and does not take my siblings (aged 7 and 9) to mass. I worry that this means that they will not to heaven. Do non-believers go to purgatory?
I would be extremely grateful if you could point me in the direction of some relevent articles. I teach in a catholic primary school in Scotland, and am trying to gain a better understanding of my faith.
