Praying

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed by Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed
art thou amongst women, and Blessed is the Fruit of
thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for
us sinners, now and at the hour of our deaths.
Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it
was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen.

Dear vgatzkemly,

Thanks so much for your prayers. Hopefully, as we say the words of those three beautiful prayers, the Our Father, the Hail Mary and the Glory Be , we will say them slowly with attention and devotion. Let us remember prayer is a relationship with God. We need to mean the words we say and we need quiet in which to ponder and listen.

St. Teresa of Avila told her nuns that if they wanted to pray with attention and devotion they needed to pay attention to Whom they were speaking, what they were saying and who was speaking. Otherwise, they were only moving their lips. Good advice for all of us! 🙂
