Because the 7 books are in the Septuagint, and we know that Christ read the Septuagint.
Also the same Jewish council that rejected those books also rejected the whole New Testament, so that cannot be used as a proper argument.
Besides, who wants to beleive some crazy man from Germany over the authority and tradition of Christ’s church, not to mention Jews used those same books?
