I just noticed on a ‘friends’ facebook status that she is thinking of looking into buddhism as she is constantly worried and anxious. I’m not sure how to respond. I’m just concerend the ‘looking’ will turn into converting.

While she’s a friend on facebook, she’s not a close friend. She’s Catholic but thinks the view of life of Buddhism is better.

Any advice on how to initiate contact?

Many thanks.

Hi,

But has she asked if what the Catholic Church teaches is true? Jesus did not found the Church to make people feel good. He founded the Church to teach the truth about the God who created the world and redeemed it. Creation all about God. We are all about God. We are not about ourselves.

She is asking the wrong questions. Obviously, she wants to feel good. Buddhism fails to ask the most basic questions about our existence, such as: how did all that is come about? Why not nothing?

She needs to ask such questions.
