So true… and your grandfather has the choice to do what Jesus would want him to do or not to do that… Pride is a very dangerous sin; i;ll pray for him. I have many people in my life who have pride. I have to say i sometimes fall into various forms of the sin myslef
. I think its prideful to always think you don’t have pride… But anyway… i enjoyed reading your Post andthanks for the scirpture about the narrow pathway… I have been meaning 2 look that up in the concordance 4 some time now…

Does it mean that God won’t take back his forgiveness from us at some later date for no reason? Or, does it mean we are saved no matter if we become apostates?

What it really means is that God denies freedom to will to man after an instanteous disrete event called salvation.
It also menas that in the final analysis that God doesn’t care whether his followers are transformed and become holy becasue since they’re already saved He’s going to make them that way anyway after they die regardless of what they do here on Earth.
Since salavtion in this view is an Instanteous only discrete event believers Can have it both ways–sin however they want aftr salvation because they’re going to get to heaven anyway.

The greatest example of one loosing salvation is Judas.
Jesus not only Called Judas to be a disciple he Chose Him!
Jesus who is God and knows the Elect does not make wrong choices.
Jesus said about Judas “It would have been better for that man if he had never been born.”
Jesus wouldn’t have said that about Judas if Judas was destined for Heaven.
How many of us are priviledged enough to be called and chosen by Jesus to be one of his 12 apostles?
Have any of us been Graced like that?
Judas was Once Saved but he wasn’t Always saved!
He did not persevere. He did not run the race to the finish. He did not work out his salvation with fear and trembling.
Are you going to tell me that Judas didn’t as Hebrews says “Taste the heavenly gift and the powers of the age to come”?
The unsaved do not taste the heavenly gift The unsaved are not wirtnesses of the powers of the age to come. The unsaved are not called and chosen by Jesus to be disicples.
When many of Jesus’ disciples left Him in John 6:66 because they would not eat His flesh and drink his blood–Judas was one of the 12 that did not forsake Jesus!
You could say that Judas had more faith in Jesus and love for Him than Protestants at that time because he could at least entertain the notion that Jesus’ words were True!
God is never satisfied with just the Instant of salvation–He wants us to be perfect! He wants to transform us!
Jesus didn’t die on the cross so we’d have instant salvation–if He did why would He want us to carry crosses?
If He did all the work for Instantaneous non transforming robotic salvation–don’t you think He could have come up with an easier way to accomplish it?
I mean if we’re only stamped for an instance of grace that He provides and the future doesn’t matter did He really have to offer a Perfect loving sacrifice for such an imperfect Salvation?
Jesus loved Judas. When Jesus called Judas it was His desire that Judas be saved–just as it wasJesus’ desire that Jeruasalem be saved–just as it was Jesus’ desire that the disiples who left Him in John 6:66 be saved.
But Jesus loved all of those people so much He let them not only accept or reject him on a one time basis only–He wouldn’t have to Let them to that–His grace accomplishes that–but He Let them Impede his grace if that’s what they wished After Salvation–He loved them enough not to demand his own way–doesn’t Romans teach us that Love does not demand its own way?
See Jesus loves us so much He doesn’t change us Beyond freedom of will because if He did that He By Definition wouldn’t be Loving!
The perfect Sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross cries out for Adoration! That Adoration isn’t found in His disicples if they are incapable of exercising their free will and Loving Him enough to Let Him save them Not in an Instant–but for the rest of eternity!
It is only found in His disciples that lovingly Let Him choose them Continually theroughout all eternity.
That is the true preservation of the saints–us not choosing Jesus but being neutral to our own will so He can Choose us and do all the saving!
Jesus offered a Perfect Loving Sacrifice for that kind of Loving salvation! Jesus Loved us so much that even after salvation He doesn’t demand his own way!
What else can we do when Jesus asks us as He asked the remaining disicples after John 6:66 “Will you go away also?” but say as Peter said “Thou hast the words of eternal life Lord–where else can we go?”
Well I’ll tell you where we better not go–we better Persevere and not choose as Judas did–he didn’t give Jesus a chance to love and forgive him.
There’s one place where we can really give Jesus a chance to love Him–in the Eating of His Flesh and the Drinking of His Blood!
The best way to Let Jesus love us is in the eucharist!
The number of the beast is 666!
Don’t deny the Flesh and Blood of Jesus like the disciples following Jesus who left in John 6:66!

Haha Happy meal theology nice one…Keep in mind that there are alot of Protestants who don’t believe in that kind of Happy Meal theology. Most Protestants are generally sincere, well-meaning people who are doing their best to live out a Christian life. I would contribute most anyone who subscribes to this false belief to be simply ignorant, or spiritually immature. Pray for them.
I want to add, for the people you find that do believe in OSAS, talk through it with them, and be sure they are really saying what you think they are. I know alot of people that say OSAS, but when you talk to them and go in depth, it’s not really what they believe.
I can’t believe this is actually thought really shocking.
