Follow this to the end its really enlightening.

I was listening to a James White debate and something dawned on me that I read in a book, “The Catholic Controversy.” The protestant protesters did not have any mission from God.

Through out all of Scripture any one that preached on Gods behalf was either chosen by Him directly or chosen by the one whom God had chosen.

The “reformers” were not alive to meet Christ so they were not chosen by him. It is clear that choosing was extremely important because God drew each person in Scripture in the OT and in the NT, each Apostle, and then Christ confirmed them in letting them follow him.(Acts 1:1-2) Or Christ chose them Himself. No one with any authority in His Church chose themselves.

St Paul calls them ambassadors or legates. (Apostles, prophets, preachers, evangelists, deacons) One cannot be an ambassador for Christ lest he be SENT.

Now, if the “reformers” were sent by God directly then they must prove it by miracles. They do not even claim that for themselves. In the new Testament every ambassador was either chosen By Christ or God himself by an Angel, or by someone Christ or God had chosen. Now anyone can preach the Gospel but that does not mean they have a share in the kind of authority given to the Apostles, bishops, presbytors, deacons.

Who sent the reformers? God Himself directly? What proof do they have? If all one must do is claim to be properly interpreting scripture, then any one can claim it. And all heretics did and do. I mean all. How does anyone know who is teaching the truth. All heretics have sincere followers who really believe in there reasoning. That means nothing. God has always used miracles to prove even His Son,much less some person 15-16 hundred years later who vacilated and lied in writ claiming loyalty then not. Thats the reformers conerstone. It can’t be Christ, they never met Him.

Scripture never talks of a 1600 year apostasy, and then reformation of the true Church. It only and always talks of lasting forever until the end of time.

NOw if they were not sent by God, who sent them.

How could this Apostate church preserve all of the truth these, ordained through all time, reformers, needed to start the true church and Kingdom. Even though the one in Scripture has a foundation of Christ with its founding pillars depicted in Rev as the 12 apostles. They never met any of them. How could they be the next true Apostles Prophets bishops and priests and deacons.

The reformers did actually claim to have been sent extrordinarily by God because the ordinay mission had been ruined and abolished with the true Church herself, under tyranny of Antichrist. You cannot prove extraordinary mission without miracles. If Christ and Moses had to prove it through miracles, should not these.

Anyone can claim to be sent by God and testing the scriptures to see if it be tru is not the ordinary means of validation.

James white claims to be properly interpreting scripture and that the church is not propoerly interpreting scripture. The only way Christ saw to handle this was to have an authority chosen by him with unbroken chains. Who gave him his mission. And if he gave to himself, How is that mission different form Arius, Marcion, Montanus, Messalius etc.

One cannot ordain himself nor can he be ordained by one who ordained himself.
