How can we save this woman?

I know a woman in her 60’s who has dementia, it turns out that years ago she used to attend a spiritualist church quite often. If I tried to speak to her about the Faith I do not think she would understand as she would forget a lot quite quickly.

Other than pray for her, I do not even know if she is baptised, due to her age it may have happened due to the fact that years ago people did it out of tradition.

You can’t " save her" or make her believe in God…only God can do that…therefore the best way to approach this is to pray ALOT to god to open her mind and heart to being converted…

After all if god doesn’t convert her then you can talk until you are blue in the face and you wont make her believe…you need to ask God to work on the lady as only God can grant the grace of conversion…then as you talk to her about the church she may be more receptive to learning more and converting if God is working in her heart and mind at the same time…

If it is beyond her mental capacity to understand or remember, it is just going to confuse her to try to talk to her about it. All we can do is pray for her, the rest is up to God.

Sometimes we don’t know just how much this kind of person understands when we gently talk to them. It may be enough to just say some nice things about Jesus and who he is and then make an act of sorrow for their sins in their presence. Never know. She might just ascent to that … and if enough love/sorrow takes hold of her, that has a good chance of helping her to prepare for death. It doesn’t seem to be safe for us to count them out as long as they can hear and are alive. God just might make up the rest. And wouldn’t it be wonderful if you were able to get thru to her even for a few moments for her to be sorry.

You might also want to say the chaplet of divine mercy for her in her presence. According to St. Faustina, this indeed is a very powerful prayer to say for someone who needs God’s mercy.
