How can we trust the Church in the wake of scandal?

How can we trust a Church that is untrustworthy, I aksed my Pastor to talk about the Church scandal and he got angry at me, where is the outrage from the pulpit, from the heirarchy, from the Vatican, give me a good reason to trust the leaders of the Church
