As people of God, how can we show are LOVE to Jesus, that Suffered for us. So that Jesus Suffering on the Cross won,t be in Vain.

Jesus gives us a really good example of how to show our love for Him in Matthew 25:31-46, “You Did It To Me”.

Christ Has No Body
Christ has no body but yours,
No hands, no feet on earth but yours,
Yours are the eyes with which he looks
Compassion on this world,
Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good,
Yours are the hands, with which he blesses all the world.
Yours are the hands, yours are the feet,
Yours are the eyes, you are his body.
Christ has no body now but yours,
No hands, no feet on earth but yours,
Yours are the eyes with which he looks
compassion on this world.
Christ has no body now on earth but yours.
Teresa of Avila (1515–1582)

His suffering on the cross will never be in vain, but we can show our love of Jesus in many simple ways.

Many people complicate this by spending so much time trying to think of some huge sacrifice or goal, and so on. These are greatly admirable, but we can also share our love of Jesus each day in ways that touch others on a regular basis.

Most important - LOVE. Love one another. Love our famiies, friends, coworkers, irritating people, our enemies. ( people of other religions) Practice tolerance, patience, forgiveness, kindness and mercy. His love will shine through you greater than any words.

Without love, all else is dark. God is love.

Follow the golden rule - do unto others as you would have them do to you. 🙂

DRB: Luk 10:27 He answering, said: Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart and with thy whole soul and with all thy strength and with all thy mind: and thy neighbour as thyself.

I highly recommend this book:

(read the reviews- they’ll give you great insight into what the book is about and how people have used it to draw closer to Jesus and His sufferings).

The author himself mentions that you do not need to use it only as a “weekend retreat plan”, but can use it as a lifelong plan. There is also a small prayerbook available that contains the prayers from the main book, plus they have an iphone/ipad app and facebook page.

I try to live by the Scripture from Matthew:

Matt 25:40: “…‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’”

Right now, I’m recovering from a heart attack & preparing for a knee replacement…so it’s hard to do all I want. However, I have a very sick brother, who was in the veteran’s hospital for two years & I visit him at least once a week, get him out of his apt. take him out to eat, go to the store with him, sometimes we go to the library, etc. He is a casualty of Vietnam, a recovering alcoholic, with late stage cirrhosis. He hasn’t had a drink in 10 yrs., but it was too late when he quit.

Another thing that one can do, even when one’s own body is in turmoil is PRAYER. That takes no physical energy & is the most effective way to “do for the least” when your own health is less than good.

Sorry about this. I’m new here & didn’t realize I was resurrecting an OLD thread.
