How can you convince someone that God loves them, when they are convinced that He doesn't?

I would show some scripture that explains God’s love. I dont have any scripture on the top of my head I might get back to that when I look through. But freewill is something God has given us, so we may make the decision not by force but by our love to love the Almighty just as he has loved us. He thought of each and every one of us before we even existed.

If someone is absolutely convinced that God doesn’t love them, words usually won’t change that.

Show them with your actions.

Just be patient and pray. Like St Monica did for St Augustine.

I think the person knows already that God loves them.
Acceptance - is such a key thing.

Today, at work, I have one Catholic friend in the entire building.
We secretly chat God things and share ideas…etc
Well, today, he says, “ I’m done with praying. I’m done with God” …
And he complained about this and that…
I changed the subject …to ironic work related things…
But it was a shock to me…to hear him - say such things.
Almost a atheist outburst !

The less you say the better. Listen. It takes time. Results don’t come straight away. It’s more about how you communicate, your attitude to them. Walk alongside them. Don’t berate or bible bash…
And in the end don’t think “I have to convince them” because you will be disappointed. its a free world.

Something similar happened to me a few weeks ago. My coworker is going through a painful situation. I reminded him that without God there is no hope and that pain without faith leads to despair. He reflected and came back to his senses.

God doesn’t love Steelers fans (well, he loves them more than Pats or Cowboys fans).
