How can you tell your prayer has already released some souls from purgatory?

Is there some kind of sign? Mind sharing your experiences?

Some saints have been able to see souls flying to heaven from purgatory, or feel them as they go there.
Most of us are not gifted with these abilities, so I just have to trust in God that one or more souls are getting to heaven on my prayers.

I did ask God and St. Therese to please let me know in a certain way if my three closest loved ones were in Heaven and after a time I received positive responses.
 
What are those positive responses and how long did you prayed for that soul?
 
If you received those assurances then you are blessed. God is merciful and I do hope for my loved ones who passed away.
 
You can try asking God sincerely too for assurances. But if He gives them to you in whatever way, you need to have confidence in them. Which is difficult as many people and even one’s own mind will sometimes dismiss things as coincidence or superstition, when we should confidently believe instead.

I suspect that people asking about the fate of their deceased loved ones makes up a major percentage of God’s inbox.
 
Said in my best late night TV infomercial voice “Say this prayer and YOU will release 500 souls from purgatory! Say that novena and you release 1,000! Hurry, say this prayer TODAY, someone is waiting on YOU!”

That is not official Church teaching.

We are to pray for our departed and for those who have no one to pray for them. We have no guarantees, no scoreboard.
