Becca knows I do too. We fight enough to be married to eachother. But I donāt believe in polygamy even if she does.
bukowski knows I kid.

Secular archaeologists say they donāt agree with Bible apologists responses with Bible difficulties, because archaeology is supposed to be falsifiable with publicly verifiable research; they say Bible apologists make it unfalsifiable by how they reason. The Bible apologists donāt set up predictions saying, āIf this really isnāt a problem for the Bible, we prediction weāll find this observation archaeologically later down the road; if we donāt find the prediction then that means that part of the Bible is false.ā Bible apologists donāt do that, and so secular archaeologists call them pseudoarchaeologists.
Likewise, Book of Mormon apologists come up with similar reasons why things arenāt anachronisms, just like the Bible apologists do.
Thatās part of my critical thinking. If the Book of Mormon needs to stand on itās own with archaeology, well the Bible as a whole sure doesnāt. Big segments of it may, but as a whole it doesnāt. Everything before King Davidās time doesnāt, parts off and on throughout the Old Testament after that conflict with archaeological evidence. The nativity event from the New Testament has some serious problems (Matt says Herod was around at the time of Jesusā birth; Luke says all the world was taxed or registered; those who study history say Herod died 10 years before the event of all the world being registered; etc.)
He was refering to the planet Cobal in Battlestar Galactica, a TV series which was created and written by Mormons. The planet Cobal is a panache of Kolob, where the Mormon god is from.PS there is no planet cobal. You canāt even get that right.
Irrelevant. Answer these ā plenty about DNA here. I have answered it and so have the others.I really appreciate the enthusiasm you put into your posts here. Your biggest problem with your theory is that DNA has PROVEN THAT NOBODY has come from the middle east and settled in the americas. Your own mormons even proved that and has since been removed from your community. DNA can locate lineage down to ONE PERSON! Sorry the bom is proven as fiction and I donāt see much of a future for its members but the one true Churchā¦The Roman Catholic Church.
Read this fairlds.org/apol/ai105.htmlhi, first, guess what, the reason we know the dating of the cities you mention is because they exist. For instance, in the case of Jericho, it was dated to within a 100 years of the Biblical time frame. Since the Bible has never claimed to be a historical record, Iād say this is more than good enough for me.
Second, we know it is the city of Jericho because the archaeological evidence supports this fact.
The city of Jericho is not a metaphor. It is really real.
Tell me, where is the city of Zarahemla, and where is the archaeological support for the location?
Read this fairlds.org/apol/ai105.htmlLike I asked. Pick One from the Old and one from the New. Horses in the Book of Mormon is an anachronism by the definition of the word. I think we both agree there are none in the New Testament and you donāt seem to be able to explain one from the Old Testament.
I doubt that anyone will take FAIR seriously. They are a bunch of professional back-peddlers who do violence to the BOM text and contradict most of what Joseph Smith and his successors have taught about the BOM, as do you.Baloney. Answer these or forget about it. I have answered these a million times.

Say you. You know nothing. This is absurd. You are a ex-Mormon Mormon hater. Period. You never learned enough about the church to even know what church members believe.I doubt that anyone will take FAIR seriously. They are a bunch of professional back-peddlers who do violence to the BOM text and contradict most of what Joseph Smith and his successors have taught about the BOM, as do you.
Answering every argument with a link to FAIR. Thatās pretty funny, and pathetic.
I am certainly not a Mormon hater. I hate no one, and have a great love for the Mormons in my family. Believing that you have been deceived does not mean that I hate you.Say you. You know nothing. This is absurd. You are a ex-Mormon Mormon hater. Period. You never learned enough about the church to even know what church members believe.
AmenI donāt need to engage in anti-Mormon polemics. I just need to let you keep posting your hateful tirades and name-calling. You do far more damage to the cause of Mormonism than any Catholic could ever do. You are simply a mean old man, and I truly pity you in your misery and your insecurity in your faith.
Me too.I pray for you on a regular basis, mf. Does that surprise you?

I was teasing you with the planet Cobal thing. You canāt take a Battlestar Galactica joke pointed at mormons can you? Sorry. The rest I would like to answer but thereās a bunch of them how do you want me to answer them? Also You seem to be in defense mode as in what the marines say the best defence is a good offence. Youāre having problems substantiting the BoM claims with regard to ancient civilizations.Baloney.
Answer these line by line or foget about it. I have already answered all these- read the thread. How many times do I have to repeat it? Instead just go here and when you are ready to discuss it intelligently let me know.

I think Mormons are rather moral. The ones Iāve met anyway. In some respects more so than many catholics I know. Utah has a problem with pornography and BYU has kids that participate in fight clubs and are immoral but thatās not what is representative of Mormons. Many are very moral. The question is one of truth.Catholics, letās be nicer. Can we quit arguing over whether the BOM is truth or fiction, and go to the subject of what moral truths there are in it. I have been thoroughly re-reading it, and I can see many places that are critical of the way todayās Mormons ādo Mormonismā. Can you find them?
I doubt that those LDS that you know are as āgoodā as external appearances indicate.
What does that mean. I understand what you mean about their not understanding their own book. But how does that reflect racism. Didnāt their prophet abandon racism? What do you mean as āgoodā as external apperance? They are moral. The husband doesnāt cheat on his wife. They donāt swear, they donāt smoke. They donāt break the law. They donāt drink coffee. They donāt gossip. These are indicators of morals. They donāt have anyone locked up in their basement. They donāt steal. So what do you mean theyāre not as āgoodā?There are other examples, but others can make contributions.
We have the same problems in our church! Worse when catholic donāt even study the CCC. Iāve met racist catholics. Iāve met Catholic who think there is a special forgiveness for someone who crusifies themselves (philipenes) and our church monks use to flog themselves to drive out their imperfections or wear hair shirts. The issue isnāt morals as much as truth. I agree with you about joe though.Oh---- but they do gossip. Sometimes it gets quite malicious. That is what that story is about.
Racism is still a serious problem in their church. Many take seriously the claim that skin color is an indication of oneās soul, because of the sins of the ancestors of peole of color. People must be punished because of their ancestorās sins, in order to bring them to repentance. and Mormons are real good at doing that, without looking at their own ancestorsā sins, and learning from them. This excuses racism.
And that is another moral to that story-- about people punishing others for real, or perceived imperfections, and thereby arousing opposition and anger. They try to do āGodās workā without realizing that their own strategies are, in themselves, sinful.
The problem is that, without something like CCC, they define sin too narrowly.
However, I do enjoy my coffee, and I do not regard it a sin. I do regard it a sin when someone else condemns me for it. :coffeeread: Reading the BOM with a good cup.
