So why do people claim to follow Jesus Christ, yet believe that same-sex marriage is okay with God? I mean, Jesus could not be any clearer here with his divine endorsement of the sanctity of a male-female union:[Jesus] said in reply, “Have you not read that from the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh?’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, no human being must separate.”
GOD MADE US MALE AND FEMALE, AND FOR THIS REASON A MAN JOINS HIS WIFE TO BECOME ONE FLESH.
Yet, I still hear about so many Christians trying to justify gay marriage, even saying that it’s supported by the message of love in the Gospel! I know that some people are swayed by the idea that marriage is a great, love-filled thing that everyone should be able to enjoy, but Jesus DID say that “Some are incapable of marriage…”
I mean, is there any way that this statement by Jesus could possibly be distorted, because I don’t understand how a same-sex marriage supporting Christian deals with this contradiction in their mind.
And I know that this quote was directly responding to a question about divorce, but it doesn’t change the fact that Jesus DEFINED MARRIAGE right in his reply!
