How could Lucifer sin in heaven?

Please help me work this out. Father Corapi has made the statement that once we are in heaven we cannot sin because we are in the presence of God. How then could the angel Lucifer have sinned and be cast out of heaven?
 
Hi,

Lucifer was not in heaven in the sense that he was graced with the beatific vision of God. Nor were Adam and Eve when they sinned.
