How could we know?

Here we discuss about the possibility of existence of soul. The only fact that we are sure about it is that we experience. There are two feasible scenario in here: (1) There exist an experiencer (soul) and (2) The experience is an local event. The question is how could we know what truth is, the existence of soul, knowing the fact that the experience is the only thing that we are sure about it? What sort of evidence do you have to show each of the above scenario?

Evidences for scenario (1): NDE.
Evidences for scenario (2): Existence of brain.
 
I personally think that the existence of our soul is a self-evident truth, an “axiom” if you will. You have to be conditioned out of believing in a soul to believe in materialism. Some scientists say that consciousness is only an illusion. But you must ask, an illusion to WHOM? To yourself? As you can see that answer still assumes the existence of a soul.
 
When the question is religious, knowing is not as important as believing. I believe I have a soul. Good enough for me.
 
A couple more things, when you say NDE I’m assuming you mean near death experiences. I do agree that those are strong evidence for a soul.
Also, the soul is in your whole body, not the brain. Recent science supports this and has called the gut your “second brain”. There is much neural tissue with neurotransmitters in your gut in addition to your brain.
 
I believe I have a soul because God has touched it. The Church teaches that Jesus Christ became incarnate, lived, died, and rose again to save human souls. Therefore we have them. End of discussion.

The only self-evident fact thing is that we experience. Could we please stick to it?

How do you know that your belief is correct? Or that is also irrelevant because you believe?

It’s hardly a self-evident fact. Is memory an experience? How about our use of general concepts? Judging something beautiful, or just or unjust? Will? I agree with a poster above you really have to twist yourself into a knot to deny the reality of consciousness or , as you have done, confine it to experience, which you leave undefined as it is. I assume you mean sense experience.

It is self-evident fact. We know everything through experience. It is the only real thing that we all share.

I think some evidence of the knot you’ve twisted yourself into is that I have no idea what some of these statements might mean.
