How did the apostles know what time it was?

Maybe we’d say they exist throughout time, or that their consciousness exists throughout time. So while our souls are eternal, we can only experience the present moment consciously, whereas angels can experience all time as the present. So an angel can participate in your decision in this moment or the next, sort of “step into” time because they become more present to our awareness, even though we can’t comprehend precisely “how” that works.

I like what you are suggesting, but was trying to figure out if it is true to say our souls are “eternal”? Immortal, yes, but where did you learn of our souls being eternal in nature?

Its an interesting point because I think we can go either way here in this life on earth, and we’re not really “set” eternally until after we die, pass through purgatory, and go to heaven or hell…

Actually, I should have said “immortal”, not “eternal.” And admittedly I’m venturing outside the limits of my own understanding I think someone attributed to St Augustine the quote: “Everyone thinks they know what time is until they’re asked to define it!”
