How did we get to be called Catholic?

I understand that Jesus Christ established the Church, but where does it say it was the Catholic Church?
 
Hi,

“It” doesn’t have to say anything. There simply was no other Church at the beginning. By the beginning of the first century the word “catholic” began to used in identifying the Church. See:
