In the Old Covenant, males were circumcised at eight days old. How were women admitted to the Old Covenant? I have heard many different theories (e.g., when they had a child, they were admitted at their birth, etc.). What was the actual way it occurred?

It was a patriarchal covenant (which is one reason why the sign of the covenant was placed on the male generative organ). Women were counted as members of the covenant by virtue of being their fathers’ daughter. In modern times, daughters are welcomed into the Jewish community with a naming ceremony.
