How do Catholics interpret 1Timothy 6:16

Thank you for your reply. I can’t keep up with everyone! Lol
I’m not referring to the Harpazo, or “rapture” or snatching away. But Thessalonians does mention it, as does Daniel, when it tells us that everyone whose names are written in the Book of Life will be saved at the hour of testing that will come upon the whole world, a time more horrible than any yet. BUT- I want to stay on topic. 😉 Jesus returns at a time we think not. Like a thief in the night, and people will be buying & selling, marrying & being given in marriage. Going about their daily lives. NOT living in the time of “Jacob’s Trouble”, or “Daniel’s 70th week.” People will not be going about their daily lives during that time- which happens near the end- before Christ’s triumphant return to judge the living and the dead.
I really want to stay on topic, but I wanted to address this too. Many people are replying to me. Some are not quite understanding what I am actually asking. I am going to reply to some more people right now if I can- I should be getting my daughter to bed 😃

Jesus? No, not at all! And I didn’t mention Mary. What I was stating is that the Bible claims that ONLY GOD holds immortality. But- Catholics believe that many, many people are immortal now (in heaven). I also don’t understand how we are all individually judged at death (hell, purgatory, heaven), and then judged AGAIN during the first resurrection- which is for all believers, (mentioned in Revelation 20) and then there is another resurrection in that same chapter which is called the great white throne judgement, for everyone else (after the 1,000 years). Please read it. I really truly want to know why Catholics believe this. I want to know the Whole, Unadultarated, TRUTH. ❤️:raised_hands:t4:

But the Bible shows us that we will not rise again (be alive) until the last day/judgement day. Daniel is told this in Daniel 12:13 and Martha states it in John 11:24. PLEASE READ BOTH OF THESE-(I’m not yelling 😉) There are many other scriptures that show this. Please can somebody explain to me why Catholics believe we are judged right at death & receive immortality (so then God alone DOES NOT hold immortality- as scripture states- but according to the Catholic faith, many people do) and then we are judged AGAIN at the “last day” which is also called the “first resurrection” in Revelation. Thank you all so much!!

We receive the Particular Judgment as souls, not yet having regained our bodies. It is a soul that enters Heaven, Purgatory or Hell.
At the Resurrection we receive our bodies, and then take part in the General Judgment.
After which we go, body and soul together, to eternal reward or eternal condemnation.

I hope this helps to clarify our beliefs for you.
