How do feminists deal with Scriptures that go against the movement?

  1. No disrespect is intended.
  2. I know of the positive affects of the Women’s Rights Movement.
  3. I do not support sexism.
But, anyway, how are these passages interpreted by feminists.
 
You might be able to get a better discussion if you identified the aspects of feminism that you have in mind that conflict with Scripture, quoting relevant verses as required.
 
Would any of you be willing to sign a petition to end womens’ suffrage?😛

I don’t think that the Bible was speaking of voting, but like speaking in the Church, etc. I am not an anti-feminist, I am just wondering how feminists that are practicing Christians deal with these passages.

Yes, that’s what Scripture says. Cannot be more clear.

But, lest you think it’s a one-way street, St. Paul does state that men have certain obligations as well.

Yes, I know.🙂 Paul says that men should treat women as equals and that they must treat them with care.

Good questions. Perhaps best answered in the book The Church Impotent, The Feminization of Christianity by Leon J. Podles. It explains why many more men than women don’t go to church for one thing.
 
1 Corinthians 11:3
But, I wnat you to know that Christ is the head of every man, and a husband the head of his wife, and God the head of Christ.

1 Timothy 2:11
A woman must recieve instruction silently and under complete control. I do not permit wome to have authority over a man. She must be quiet.

Ephesians 5:22
Wives must be subordinate to their husbands as to the Lord.
