How do i argue against immodest modeling?

I side with what the two last posters said. There is a possibility of overreaction, of course, but the purpose not being wrong (selling clothes or jewelry is not wrong) doesn’t make it right to use sexual arousal to get more sales. This said, I am not criticising the girl (and I am not overdoing the criticism of the parents) because I don’t know what kind of clothes or poses those are (and no, I don’t want to see).

This is what Our Lady of Fatima told the Children:

Our Lady appeared to Jacinta several times between December 1919 and February 1920. Our Lady told her many things including:

"The sins of the world are very great … If men only knew what eternity is, they would do everything in their power to change their lives.”

"Fly from riches and luxury; love poverty and silence; have charity, even for bad people.”

"More souls go to Hell because of sins of the flesh than for any other reason.”

"Certain fashions will be introduced that will offend Our Lord very much.”

"The Mother of God wants more virgin souls bound by the vow of chastity.”

"Woe to women wanting in modesty.”

"Many marriages are not of God and do not please Our Lord.”

"Let men avoid greed, lies, envy, blasphemy, impurity.”

"Never speak ill of anyone. Never complain or murmur. Be very patient, for patience leads us to Heaven.”

If you GF and her parents have chosen this path and are going to follow the fashion industry. You would be better off seeking another path.

the problem with it is that they use the arousal by means of immoral poses and insinuations and outfits possibly even partial to full nudity (very unlikely) depending on the market ends up in
Yes but she is selling the clothing to other women. So I am not sure where the arousal comes in. I’m afraid you will have to be a bit more specific.

Offensive to who? To you perhaps.

Please don’t answer “to god”…(all powerful beings do not get offended).
To God.

right…so all powerful god is losing sleep over girls in mini-skirts.

honestly…
Yes, I’m being honest. I can understand if you do not believe in a Christian God, but I find great comfort and peace in knowing that God cares about each of us down to a personal level.

From the Catholic perspective, the kind of modeling he’s talking about is offensive in many ways.
I’ve thought about this further, and I think I can see where the problem may lay.

Both you and littledrummerboy are young men, with no sexual outlet. (I can only assume that you both adhere to the churches teachings on masturbation).

Could it be perhaps that you are more easily aroused by these beautiful models, and more easily lead to immodest thoughts than other men? Littledrummerboy insinuated as much in his original post.

If this is the case, then there is a simple solution. Turn away.

The pictures were intended for women who will buy the clothing. Blaming the women for posing in positions to sell clothing which you as a man find sexually appealing (but are free to abstain from viewing) shows a subtle misogynistic streak which is unfortunately all to common amongst young men.

Classic CAF: “You don’t agree with me”. “You’re not a real Christian.” The boy is learning.

God doesn’t set dress codes. Your reaction to the human body is your problem.

It’s about human dignity. This kind of modeling is degrading no matter who is looking at it.

You should take care not to sound condescending. I never said that and were unaware that you identified yourself as a Christian. Your posts seemed to indicate otherwise.
God doesn’t set dress codes.
Nope, just commandments. 🙂

I agree totally

Ha! you just did it again…

I’ll just keep waiting for an answer as to why **your problems **with lustful thoughts are somehow the fault of women modelling clothing for other women.

When did I ever mention problems with lustful thoughts? You’re assuming things about me…

I don’t look through women’s clothes catalogs.

The problem, as I have said before, is human dignity – or rather the lack of it.

Well actually meant “your” in the collective sense.
I don’t know if you have lustful thoughts. But given your age and gender, I’d say you have them like…every 5 to 6 minutes…🙂
I don’t look through women’s clothes catalogs.
Then how do you know what’s in there is so degrading?

Weak point because those clothes are not worn by women for women. Next thing you’re going to tell me that thongs and big cleavages are fine to model because the shots are for women who will be buying, not for men?

How can you “model” a big cleavage? Surely you’ve either got it or you haven’t…

Thongs are generally worn by women *under *their clothing…so as not to have a “panty line” showing…

Do you have a problem with this as well…?

I’ve seen women’s modeling everywhere. *****Some of it *****is incredibly degrading to the women who are modeling.
Yes. Some of it.

Plus depends on what you consider degrading. Can you elaborate?
