How do I argue against Sola Scriptura?

I am having a tough time finding a passage from Paul to, I think, Timmothy, stating that the oral history (traditions) are equally important in teaching about Jesus as are the recollections of Jesus’ teachings. Essentially a strong reason to rebut sola scriptura.
Can you direct me to the passage so I can work on converting a friend?
