How do I Baptize my child?

Hello!

My husband and I just had our first child. He was raised Catholic and I was not. We have decided on getting hour son Baptized in the Catholic church and have chosen his God Parents (whom are Catholic). My husband however has not attended church in a while and doesn’t know what to do. What steps do I need to take to be accepted/allowed to have our son Baptized? Is it possible? Or do both of his parents need to be Catholic?

All that is required is that there is a founded hope that the child will be raised Catholic. Only one parent needs to be Catholic. Your husband should call the local parish and discuss what steps need to be completed for the baptism. Usually there is some kind of class that the Catholic parent and Godparents need to attend.
