My husband and I want to have another baby. We have two girls and would like to have a boy to complete our family. Someone told me that the Catholic religion knows how.
So far as I know, the Church has not approved of parents deliberately attempting to select the sex of children they are trying to conceive. It can be argued that to do so treats children in an utilitarian fashion rather than treating them as gifts from God possessing inherent human dignity. A child is not a collector’s piece that one obtains to “complete” a set. Rather, the Church expects parents to remain open to life and to lovingly accept the children God entrusts to them, regardless of their sex.
