How do I confess this? Is it even a sin?

I spend a lot of time on other forums too. Sometimes they have threads where they post pictures of women (not naked) and I am curious and I look. Sometimes in some threads they post things which I am not expecting, like explicit pictures, I look away immediately, but I start to think that I shouldn’t go on these forums knowing something like that might come up (they are not moderated) but I go on them anyway. I also laugh at improper jokes they make and that kind of thing. How do I confess that - is it something along the lines of concupiscence? Thank you for help!

It sounds like you tend towards scrupulosity. You should talk about this with your regular confessor.

I know I tend towards it Hence I am asking if they are sins But I confessed anyway, just got back now, my regular confessor probably knows I tend towards it.

Good advice…

Though also the person needs take into consideration if those forums are near occasions for him…

Personally if such pictures (explicit) were a problem there…I would avoid those forums…even for not wanting to have to glance at them if they appear…

there is a reasonable custody of the eyes and “not going where one will be too tempted”…

So I encourage him to take this into consideration…

If you must look away immediately from explicit pictures being posted on that website, you shouldn’t be on that website.

You have an informed conscience, use it to discern how to protect your soul.

Catholics’ special relationship with Christ in the Eucharist sets the “tipping point” of objectionable behavior and determines “near occasions of sin”.

P.S. Moderate the amount of time spent on the computer, this type of interface is very addicting.

it might be placing yourself in a near occasion of sin… try not to do it, it’s not worth it, especially as it’s causing you all this anxiety
