How do I convert when no one is interested in helping me?

I am a Christian and would like to convert to the Catholic faith. I have gone to my local parish several times and it does not seem to be as friendly or aggresive to new members. Who must I speak to or what must I do to become Catholic? Is asking the priest at the end of Mass an appropriate time?

Your question reminds me of when I was looking into becoming Catholic. I did not ask the priest at the end of Mass – which is indeed a bad time to try to speak to the priest about such a matter – but I did write and call more than once before I could manage to set up an appointment to talk with the pastor. Turns out that my interest in converting occurred during Holy Week, an impossibly busy time for parish staff, which is why it was several weeks later before the pastor could talk with me.

I recommend that you call the parish office and ask to make an appointment with the pastor to discuss becoming Catholic. The pastor will let you know what steps need to be taken to do so. God bless, and welcome home!
