I am a devout catholic who is relatively new (less that two years) I love your website but most of all catholic answers live. I listen on my Ipod each day and have learned so much from your entire staff. I am trying to be a good defender of the faith so I am looking to be rock solid on knowing my faith. I was listening to Catholic Answers live tonight and a question was asked about infant baptism. The guest gave a few bible verses to look up. They are John 3:5,22 , Mark 16:16 , Mark 10:14 , 1Corinth 15:21,22 , Luke 18:15 , Col 2:11. I looked up all the verses in two bibles that I have one is a catholic study bible and the other is an NIV. I couldn’t draw the conclusion that infant baptism is good enough for salvation. If a baptized infant dies is he saved. I know that nothing is beyond God’s authority and that he has the ability to save anyone. When you read the verse of Mark 16:16 it says that whoever believes and is baptized will be saved and whoever does not believe will be condemned… If you can only be saved by being baptized and believing how does that convince our protestant brothers that infant baptism is necessary.
