How do I defend the Catholic priesthood from liberalism?

There is an ongoing debate in our Catholic church. There are those who are advocating married and female priests as an answer to our vocational crisis in America and there are those, like myself, who are vigorously defending the priesthood and its sacred traditions. Iam in the ‘eye of the storm’ and need some help in how to answer these liberal parishioners. There has been an ongoing exchange of letters in our Church bulletin responding to my defence of the priesthood. Can you direct me to literature or facts which defend the practice of celibacy? Help in CT.

Ruddat,

These links should be helpful for explaining why the ordination of married men is not a solution to the vocations crisis the Church was experiencing and why women cannot be ordained. If you have any further questions or concerns that are not answered by these links, please contact Catholic Answers directly.
