I hope you can help.
At dinner the other night we were talking about religion, a family member and a priest friend both said that they believe that God is too good to send people to hell, hence there is no hell.
One of our rarely practising daughters was there, and I was devastated that she would hear a priest say such a thing, that she would see in that response that there was then no real reason to get to Mass on Sundays, or to make time for God.
I said I believe that there is a Hell. The priest said that he could not stop me from believing that. I was unable to stand up for what I believe, it is said it’s in the Bible, the Catechism speaks of it, Saints have had glimpses of it.I felt it would all sound too strong, confrontational.
