How do I defend the Trinity to a Jehovah's Witness?

This verse is addressed in the Catholic Answers Magazine article “Jesus is God” but it still seems difficult - why do the Sacred Scriptures say that Jesus, the Most High God, is, “first-born of every creature” (italics mine)? How can I both understand this verse and defend against its gross misinterpretation by the Jehovah’s Witnesses effectively? Thank you, may God bless everyone.
