How do I dispose of a broken brown scapular that has been properly blessed by a priest?
 
If you can do so safely, the preferred method is to burn it and then commit the ashes to the earth. If the scapular cannot be burned, or if it is for any other reason inadvisable for you to burn it, the scapular can be thrown away. If you want to take extra care and avoid causing scandal to anyone who might see the scapular in the trash, you could first wrap it in a cloth.
