How do I explain Mass to someone who says its boring?

I have a friend that came with me to a Sunday mass. Afterwards she came up to me and told me that the congregation did not seem into the prayers, and that it seemed like it was rehearsed. This upset me greatly because I know that it’s more than just reciting prayers. I tried telling my friend this, but she doesn’t understand. What should I tell my friend? And I am also wondering why our mass seems somewhat rehearsed like my friend described. Thankyou!😃
